We can recommend many options for dinner either locally or further afield and the following is a selection of our favourites. Booking ahead for all of them is recommended.

The Black Bull has been renovated and restored to its former glory as a coaching inn. Run by James and Nina of the Three Hares you can expect the very best seasonal, locally produced food. Open every evening. (5 minute drive)

The Dalesman – our local pub in Sedbergh and very good! (5 minute drive)

Al Forno Italian Kitchen – an informal and relaxed restaurant serving oven-baked pizzas and fresh pasta; open for lunch and dinner and run by a friendly Italian team. (5 minute drive)

The Cross Keys in Cautley is a traditional Temperance Inn (alcohol is not served but you can take your own with no corkage charge) serving home cooked food on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. (10 minute drive)

Hipping Hall in Kirkby Lonsdale is open to non-residents and offers a tasting menu by Oli Martin from Wednesday to Sunday. (25 min drive)

The Black Swan in Ravenstondale has an excellent menu and is a very warm and welcoming pub in a pretty village setting (25 minute drive)

The Punch Bowl is an award winning pub in Crosthwaite serves outstanding food and is between Kendal and Windermere (45 minute drive)
