Pip’s Plod

How could we fail to be inspired by this story? Not to be deterred by losing half her sight as a result of a stroke Pip Bowhay is walking the 1,000 miles from just north of John O’Groats to Land’s End, carrying all she needs on her back and with the aid of a stick and her own very detailed navigation instructions. Raising money for the hospice that cared for her husband Richard who passed away just a few years after she suffered her stroke, Pip is spirited and determined and will no doubt delight everyone she meets along the way. We were excited to welcome her and when she arrived having lost her way in the Cumbrian hills on an incredibly hot day with a broken tooth and empty water bottle she was simply full of joy. For all those little things that we find to complain about, there needs to be only one Pip to overshadow them.

Setting off at 7am

Pip has asked us to share her Just Giving page, which we are happy to do.
